My au pair duties for a 9-year-old boy included but were not limited to afternoon pick-ups, driving to extra-mural activities, helping with homework as well as tutoring in the following subjects: Mathematics, English and Afrikaans. The duration of being an au pair taught me a significant number of qualities namely: adapting to the needs of the child, problem-solving with every challenge that arises as well as being an attentive listener.
