Johannesburg Junior Council head of outreach committee
Whilst serving as Chair of the Outreach Committee (on Johannesburg Junior Council) I headed up three events:
1. Fun Day at the Orlando Children’s Orphanage
2. Tea and Games at the Jordan House Old Age Home
3. Day volunteering at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)
Being a part of the Council instilled a love of leadership and outreach in me. I learnt that I thrive when faced with challenges – especially in the company of new people with different backgrounds and cultures and enjoy uplifting others.
• Whilst serving as Deputy Head Girl, I set up a project which involved pairing my school with an underprivileged school. The idea succeeded and was beneficial to both parties: allowing the less- fortunate students to use King David’s facilities (classrooms, swimming pool, fields, courts, drama stage) whilst also bringing in an influx of talent, increasing the much-needed competition within sport/arts and culture within King David.
