As a third-year audit trainee at KPMG Cape Town, my day-to-day activities involve applying technical skills such as conducting detailed financial analyses, performing risk assessments, and verifying financial statements for compliance with relevant accounting standards. I also engage in substantive testing of various financial areas, document audit findings, and assist in the preparation of audit reports. In addition to these technical tasks, I utilize soft skills including effective communication, both with clients and team members, time management to meet tight deadlines, critical thinking to identify and resolve complex issues, and teamwork to collaborate with colleagues and support junior team members. My role requires adaptability to handle varying client demands and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
