Open & Collaborative Environment

Work-Life Balance Prioritization

I absolutely love the Channel Islands. I moved after working in Johannesburg for two years and after being here for over a year, I can't imagine moving back. The work life balance is great, you work hard over certain audits and in the busy season, but are always expected to enjoy some time off and have a life outside of work. My life outside of work includes running and cycling and the island is the perfect place to train. It is safe, beautiful and has a bit of everything to offer from countryside trails to seaside flat stretches.

The culture of the firm is more tight-knit and supportive compared to the larger, more bureaucratic cultures of bigger firms. Students who value a strong sense of community and teamwork might prefer the culture at Mazars (see above).

Learning & Development

At Mazars, Trainees may have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across different industries. This exposure can provide a broader experience and a chance to develop a versatile skill set. Generally, trainees will work on more clients than is typical at a big firm

In a mid-sized firm, trainees have more hands-on involvement in engagements and client interactions from an earlier stage. This means working with management sooner, and fast tracking growth.

While the Big 4 firms often have structured career paths, Mazars offers more flexibility in career progression. Students may have the opportunity to take on leadership roles and advance their careers at a faster pace.
