Reporting to: Tax Compliance Manager

• Completing and filing income tax returns (IT12, IT14) for all tax types i.e companies, CCs, trusts, and individuals for tax compliance purposes
• Verifying and recalculating tax computation for all tax types used in completing tax returns
• Income tax reconciliations in the form of completing & submitting income tax supplementary declarations (IT14SD) issued by SARS
• Performing tax accrual reviews
• Provisional tax computation, provisional tax return (IRP6) completion & submissions
• Dividends withholding tax return (DRT01, DRT02) completion & submissions
• Checking SARS income tax assessments (ITA34) and reconciling them back to the tax returns & tax computations
• Verifying clients’ tax compliance statuses & requesting tax clearance certificates (TCC) on their behalf
• Updating client information on SARS e-Filing (RAV01)
• Attending to admin & miscellaneous tax queries
• SARS & client liaison

Reporting to: Corporate Tax Consulting Partners, Directors and Managers

• Performing tax accrual reviews
• Conducting tax due diligence to identify existing tax structures within companies in assisting to categorise transaction structure
• Performing income tax computations according to the appropriate tax treatment of accounting items
• Performing deferred tax computations in accordance with IAS12
• Proposing tax adjusting journals
• Reviewing disclosure notes relating to taxation for annual financial statement purposes
• Drafting tax matters reports
• Analysing trial balances to identify tax risk relating to account balances
• Completing income tax supplementary declarations (IT14SD) issued by SARS
• Preparing income tax, employee cost (PAYE), customs, input & output VAT reconciliations as supporting schedules to the IT14SDs
• Preparation and submission of the mineral and petroleum resources royalty returns (MPR03)
• Initiating a section 18A approval application process for NPO
• Drafting tax opinions including restructuring opinions applying corporate rules
• Conducting tax research
• Drafting and submitting a request for reasons and/or a notice of objection/appeal in response to an issue of an additional assessment or the disallowance of a tax deduction and/or allowance
• Performing payroll health checks with limited scope
