PROJECTS

1. Swap Valuation Process
A process in which swaps were ported over to a new valuation method to prevent incorrect interest accruals. This enabled me to expand my understanding of how a swap operates and performs, as well as the impact interest accruals have on the valuation of an investment portfolio.

2. Client Migration
I was involved in co-managing a project whereby Maitland Group clients were migrated to an upgraded system. This gave me experience working with large data sets and forced me to gain functional knowledge of SQL and extracting information from databases, while concurrently allowed me to experience having to delegate tasks and working
effectively in a team in order to meet specified deadlines.

3. InvestOne Upgrade Testing
I was solely responsible, from the perspective of the Setup & Configuration team in managing the upgrade of InvestOne. The project entailed extensive testing of the upgraded system and all its functionalities in a UAT, preproduction as well as production environment. I was required to liaise with the vendor regarding any issues as well
as train team members on the new system. This project gave me great insight into the life-cycle of a new application from the UAT (testing environment) stage all the way to a live environment, and all the steps in-between.

4. Cash Flow Reconciliation Tool
I have developed an excel-based reconciliation tool bespoke to one of our biggest clients, which reconciles interest accrual differences between client reports and our systems. This process originally took more than 3 hours to complete, it now takes roughly 10 minutes to achieve the same objective.

5. Automated Swaption Sheet
I have built an automated excel-based sheet for the creation of swaption instruments, this was initially a tedious process which required using many different spreadsheets. The tool I have built is a centralized sheet requiring only a trade file, and all the resulting required information to create the swaption is auto-populated.
