University Leadership.
Taking Charge.
Employability director at ABSIP Wits Student Chapter
-I was responsible for finding job opportunities and vacation work for students in the finance and investment industry
-I worked closely with the CFA Society of South Africa to organise a panel discussion event where qualified CFA’s as well as candidates were sharing their insights into the designation as well as what it truly is about
-I managed two sub committee members whom I involved in the organisation’s event planning and activities
-I planned and hosted an event I came up with, titled Life After Graduation, which was aimed at bridging the gap between prospective or new graduates and those that have already been in the industry. The speakers I selected brought practical CV and interview skills but also tips on the soft skills that are important in the workplace.
-The role awarded me the opportunity to be part of the CFA Annual Investment Conference where I was in a room full of qualified chartered accountants and chartered financial analysts, as well as CFA exam level candidates.
Awards: -Award for serving on the committee as the employability director
